
Rachel Newman
Interim Director
Rachel Newman began her role as Assistant Director in May 2018. Rachel holds two degrees, a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education, from the University of Missouri College of Education. Rachel lived in Bangalore, India on two different occasions during her time as an MU student. Prior to joining the Fellowships Office staff full time, Rachel supported English Language Programs at Brandeis University in the Boston area before returning to work at her alma mater.

Erik Potter
Fellowships Adviser
Erik Potter joined the Fellowships Office in September 2019. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s degree in public affairs reporting from the University of Illinois at Springfield. A newspaper reporter for nine years, Erik came to Mizzou in 2012 as a staff writer for the university alumni magazine. He teaches a writing class in the School of Journalism and has won multiple writing awards.
